i just had the brilliant idea of harnessing lightning to use as energy. everyone could keep a glass jar of lightning in their home and when they wanted power, they just stuck a copper wire into the lightning jar. and to get it all you'd have to would be stick a conducting rod into the sky during a lightning storm and feed it into the lightning jar.
