Dream Job

I want to be a reader at a publisher

Imagine reading books all day, critiquing them, and being able to shape what goes into the literary world!

I think i say this because i realise how much i genuinely love writing my literature H3, much more than i like writing my history H3 (sorry Mr kumu)

TODAY I WORE A COMPLETELY SILVER DRESS AND FACEPAINT AND GLITTER TO CHURCH

it felt fantastic

cookies

I made a few cookies today
because i needed A BREAK FROM MY H3

and i realised on the package (yes i succumbed to pre mix #thelifeofaJCstudent) it said 'DO NOT EAT RAW COOKIE BATTER'

really. HAHAHAHAHA

though actually i should have listened because to batter wasn't particularly nice but the cookies were SUPERB

(that's premix for you)

Also while i was making them Tim came up

Tim: What's that?

Me: Cookies

Tim: (After a pause) This is a hug.

(hugged me)

and you'd think that was lovely and all (it was) but here is the follow up

Tim: And this is bad breath (BREATHES ON MY FACE ew ew ew younger brothers...what to do with them...)

home coming

Today was HOMECOMING day, so i went with the gang back to WHERE IT ALL STARTED (sounds like an album name)

The best part of the day was when Weixin and I went back into the gym and bounced high on the trampolines and i felt like i was SOARING FLYING there's not a star in heaven that we can't reach

Seriously i miss that powerful rush of euphoria so much i am going to go back one day again just for that

When we went to take the (Absolutely gorgeous) photos above, it was hilarious because we aren't very decisive people and so we spent AGES dithering over which photo to choose while the poor infocomm club girl tried to pen down our orders before we changed our minds. After about 10 minutes of deciding and undeciding and deciding again, we were sure of what we wanted and the infocomm girl was sure that she didn't want to see us ever again.

And then Weixin asked "Can we get a discount?"

I had to walk away quickly to laugh

And then at the end of the day i went with Ellis to try and burn all her coupons and we bought cheesecake and muah chee and MARGARINE as our BEST BUY with our last 4 dollars (I absolutely abhor margarine actually ITS LIKE SOLID OIL TBH)

And it was a pretty amazeballs day

Negative politeness

I recently came across this theory of negative politeness
Which is what I've been looking for to justify so many things for so long

Anyway:
"Negative politeness- This is related to freedom. It is the desire to be uninterrupted, unimpeded by others."

In other words
You give people space, and anonymity.

Pretty cool stuff

mishmash

Think about it

There must be a Higher Love

Down in the heart

And in the stars above

James Vincent McMorrow

This morning made me realise that one of the things I'd miss when/if i go away are terrible unrestrained bullet-rain thunder storms

In school I failed math and ruined a birthday surprise (stop it) but I also found out my Dad was in East Berlin in 1982

'The kids are so quiet' he wrote

And i talked to Amiruf which i haven't done for a long time

And i texted Jerry which i haven't done for a long time either

And i had a little ginger girl with freckles come up to me holding a feather and asking

'Where did you get this?'

This has just been a really weird day

I have a socksession:

1) purple socks with giraffes

2) Blue socks with lions (ONE OF WHICH GOT LOST AFTER I WASHED  IT FOR THE FIRST TIME)

3) Blue and white stripy socks with apples

4) Black socks with dinosaurs

5) Purples socks with polka dots and lace

6) Deep blue socks with divers and sharks

7) Rainbow stripy socks

8) Crazy pattern socks

9) Maroon socks with blue toes and heels

I love socks they are like wearing beautiful and comfortable uderwear (Which, by the way, you can get from http://www.thunderpants.co.nz/Womens/Hipster_Thunderpants/WH29/Womens-Hipster-Sky-Blossom.html i love their undies I WOULDN'T MIND THUNDIES FOR MY BIRTHDAY hohoho)

ANYWAY (that was an awkward interlude) basically wearing beautiful socks is like an outward expression of inner beauty-Even though you don't see it i know its there

And if you get to know me well enough you'll soon notice

***note added at a later date: I FOUND MY OTHER LION SOCK

another one

I once had a crush on a boy and i promised myself that i would make a thousand (or was it a hundred) paper cranes for good luck and then put them in a box and give it to him and probably confess my undying love

That was before i discovered how difficult

folding a paper crane is

A weird fact about me

On road trips to Malaysia i used to be terrified that i would die of thirst

So i would fill at least three water bottles

My mum, trying to plan a speech therapy session (i think it was to do with pronouncing the words lucky vs yucky, so maybe something to do with dark 'l's), just asked me what would be very lucky for a young boy to see.

Mum "....what do you think would be lucky for him to see?"

Me "Jesus."

Mum "...He's Jewish... "How to lose a client in one session" "

Me (trying to salvage the situation) "Father Christmas"

My Mother just looked at me

and then i remembered that Jews don't celebrate Christmas

I will never be a politician
