Yesterday i had such a perfect day

In the morning, Weixin was going to come over for breakfast, and so while i waited (she came a 'little' later than expected) i searched recipes for scrummy yummy things like pretzels, cinnamon rolls and peanut butter cups. Then i decided to clean out the flower vases because some of the flowers were dying and starting to smell bad, so i cut off the wilted stems and pressed the flowers themselves on the piano stool under one billion books from our 'heavy book' shelf.

When weixin finally arrived, we went down to wessex tavern, this beautiful cafe place near my house, and found a table and a menu and looked at the food, while this adorable little kid showed us her scribbles

I got a huge cup of hot chocolate and it was in one of those fat white cups that feels better when you use two hands to hold it and leaves a moustache on your face after you drink. I also got a banana and walnut muffin, and weixin got a blueberry (say bloo bree) one.

Then because we were still hungry and because i was feeling rich we decided to get a slice of apple crumble with vanilla ice cream to share between the both of us.

Eating with friends is a really good thing because even food reminds you of stuff to say and so conversation doesn't trickle awkwardly, and also, when it is quiet it doesn't matter because friend silences are usually contented ones.

Then we went back up home, and attempted to study which didn't really work, and then we went shopping.

I'd been meaning to go shopping for some time but i didn't want to go all alone, and so having wei xin there was good.

We went to lots of different places, and i bought 2 dresses, a top and a pair of nice summer shoes. We also had a mini food marathon, and i bought a big bag of famous amos cookies because they were having a promotion and i thought the lady who was giving out the sample cookies at the door of the shop was very nice. We also got Yami Yoghurt (say yoh gehrt) and decided that famous amos and yami yoghurt tastes good together. I also had a slice of pizza and weixin had a cinnamon bun from Provence.

I felt almost like i was in a movie, eating nice food, buying nice clothes, and just being able to talk and talk and talk to a good friend it was so fantastic

Concert season has been such a wonderful reminder of all the people out there who love and support me tons more than i deserve

Choir AEWF was so fantastic

I was terribly nervous knowing that the choir would be performing to a crowd of more than 1000 people, and that plus a hastily eaten lunch (i was almost late to report, what a surprise), plus cramps, plus a tight kebaya skirt gave me the most terrible tummy ache, but i was able to put it off for a while.

Aly and Alicia were such fun when we were preparing, messing around with make up, helping out with blusher/hair pins/torn skirts, and I've said so many times after AEWF but i still have to say it again I am so so so glad for my alpaca friends they are truly the best ever, and they make choir so so so much fun.

Then we reported and practiced and although i thought the practice went reasonably well, the SLs told us later that it was definitely not up to scratch, and so we'd just have to give absolutely everything for the actual concert. Unfortunately, during the comm address, my tummy ache got really terrible and i was basically leaning on the sofa and breathing and trying to not curl up. Still, i managed to make it back to the room and throw up a little (not much because i didn't have any dinner so there was nothing to throw up really)

But then i had to push all that out of my mind because it was show time and so there was no time for that.

The concert went well i suppose, Ne'ila was heart-soaring, Soleram made me tear, and Jubilate made me smile, although my only significant regret was the last segment of Pater noster, which i felt we could have done magically better.

I was happy that i managed to finish it because right after the debrief, i rushed to the room and threw up again which was horrible at the time but made me feel much better afterward.

Then we got to go out and see our friends/family. I'd actually been sorry that Mum couldn't come because i was sure she'd really love the music we chose, but it was all better because of the wonderful people who did come:

Charmaine, Grace and Ellis (who left early), i was really touched by you guys coming even after you'd been to SOV, i know that lots of choir concerts aren't something people usually attend and so thank you guys for being willing to take the time to come and charmaine your card made me laugh it was so you

Gloria/Agnes/Beth/Nic/Anders thank you for coming even though you had work/exams/homework/other stressful things and thank you for the card/flowers they were beautiful God has really blessed me with such lovely dependable church buddies :) p.s. i could hear Gloria all the way from the stage you made me giggle :)

Jerry/the tennis team Thank you for just being there you guys helped me to remember to smile to the audience and the roses were wonderful and yes yellow is my favourite colour and they smell divine and whenever i look at them on the vase on the piano i smile

Auntie Rachel Thanks for being like a second mum to me I'm glad you could be there even though my Mum couldn't and thank you for the flowers they were wonderful and yellow :) And I'm so glad that you could really enjoy the music and feel blessed by it when i read your whatsapp i felt like all the practices were worth it cos i knew that you really did appreciate the concert

Dad You are my best groupie thank you for coming to every choir concert even if you fall asleep sometimes, thank you for taking illegal pictures and videos to remember the performances, thank you for putting up with my crazy practice hours, and for always asking if i need a "Lift? Love Dad" I appreciate and love you so so so much best dad ever and you've taught me so much about sacrifice and being there for people whenever they need it even if it's tiring or inconvenient i love you you are my favourite man in the world

Christy/Toby/Auntie Yahsin I'm really sorry i couldn't eat the dinner it was so beautiful and smelt wonderful i was so tempted. Thank you Toby for being my best critique you're also someone i feel really appreciates the music at it's best (when i saw the "my heart ah my heart" caption on instagram i couldn't not smile) and for coming to see me after concert even though you probably had a kajillion billion other people to congratulate as well. Auntie Yahsin, thank you for being so concerned for me and being so motherly and supportive i really appreciate it all. Christy, thank you for the apple pie, it was delicious (and i let my choir friends try it and they all said it was delicious too), and you are such a fantastic person, dragging me with your crazy manic smile to see my friends, googling all my problems and talking to me about them and helping me clear my mind and letting me just die on your bed cos i was so tired and LOVE YOU TO BITS GURL yes

So my friend Niki is probably almost as excited about me going to England as i am about me going to England

And so that she can (i suppose) live the English experience with me, she's asked me to take photos of myself doing things like
