Shana and Annelise moved away
I hadn't talked to them for a year before I left
I remember in one of my last conversations with Shana she asked me if I was old enough yet to have babies
She also asked me to adopt her cats
I replied in the negative to both
The trampoline is gone but the rope swing is still there
Though now when you go you pay the price in blood as mosquitoes feed off you, and your only relief is swinging and pretending everything is ordinary
